In a day and where mindless button mashers rule the market it is good to see a game with some actual substance. Slay incorporates a simple yet effective economy system into a hexagonal conquest game. The game is easy to learn and relatively challenging. Although once you learn to divide enemy territory, isolating troops from supplies, the game becomes almost too easy on all but the “Very clever” difficulty level.

The only knock is the game costs $20 for the full version and there aren’t any available expansions.
