Stride Gum Games!
Recently I was contacted by Leo from Stride Gum’s marketing team. He informed me of a few of the games that they offer on their site Here.
I’ll start off by reviewind their Gum Fly game.
The very first thing I noticed about Gum Fly was a nice deal of humor in the How To Play page. Catch wet and sticky gum, good. Catch dry and nice rubber ball, bad. Surprisingly this game is rather difficult. A guy on one side of a basketball court spits out gum and you gotta catch it in a small cup. When the cup is full it is advised that you dump the contents into a trash can. This can be done two ways; 1. you left click and hold to tip the cup near the trash can and let the gum (or rubber balls, cooked shrimp, pickle chips, or the tasty cocktail weiner) slide inside. Preferably just the gum, let the other junk litter the floor. 2. you can let the physics of the gum fly its own little path aided by your hand to receptacle or floor.
Gum Fly is a timed scoring system where every piece of nasty gum that makes it into the garbage can gains you one second, and every piece of the other odd items makes you lose a second to your timer.
All in all Gum Fly isn’t a bad game, certainly not the worst I’ve played, but there is little reason to play very much. A change in levels would be welcome.
Moving on we come to the second of the three games. Time for the Chew Challenge game.
In Chew Challenge you are to extract some long overchewed gum from the mouth of your trainer with the help of a pair of chopsticks. It took a moment to realize I had to hold the left mouse button to grab the gum. After I realized that the game didn’t get too much easier. The chopsticks are a little unresponsive and slow. Thus making this game a bit more of an annoyance than the Gum Fly game. I think it’s time to check out Moving Chewers.
In Moving Chewers you are to take gum from people off of the street, but remember this is training so you will practice on some cardboard cutouts. Ever been to a carnival and seen those games where you shoot the moving ducks? No, well too bad. This game is alot like the duck game, but with an added aspect. You can only shoot the ducks that are chewing gum…Wait I’m getting confused, people chewing gum. There we go, ducks got me confused. Of the three Stride games this one is the best. The responsiveness isn’t bad, but it’s just a bit easy.
Well Leo hope you liked my triple review of the Stride Gum games…though I doubt you do since I didn’t really promote them as great games…then again it is free press…
