Yes the [blank] on Steriods is used again, and also seems quite true again. You move around on basically a modified Checkers board. Strategy and Role-Playing fit quite well together in S&B, but in a rather simple manner. Go through battles and use strategy to become more effective, and every few battles you receive a stat gain. At the beginning you choose one of 4 characters (amazon, dwarf, swordsman, or spy) and playing through Story mode you gain a few more peices to battle with.

One thing I really like about Squares and Blades is the random battles feature where you can set up battles and just play. You can choose several different types of battles where you fight or do some special task. You can also choose about how many units are on the board.
