The Nokia E61i

The Nokia E61i may be pricey at over $400, but the features that come with it more than make up for the large price tag, plus it’s fun to treat yourself to something nice every once and a while.
The nice thing about Nokia’s new cellphone is the enlarged QWERTY keyboard set up for those who do texting all the time. The dimensions of the phone are 4.6 inches tall by 2.7 inches wide by 0.5 inch deep, which makes the Nokia larger than most cell phones for ease of use, yet it’s still small enough to fit on your belt or in your pocket. The screen size comes in at 2.8 inches with a display at 320×240 pixels. The screen shines brightly and is easy to see with its backlighting and the pixel rate is high enough to watch video clips off your favorite websites.
Symbian OS 9.1 is the operating system choice of the cell phone and it runs smoothly with most of the programs that you could ever want to run with it. Word documents and even power points transfer quite nicely over with minimal to no problems and a handy USB cord comes along with the phone to transfer your favorite movie clips and songs straight from your PC. Just make sure you get a microSD card to go along with it, that way you can take hundreds of files with you (the phone can hold up to 2GB of information depending on what card you get).
If you are a music junkie, you’ll like the organization of the cell phone. The Nokia E61i will arrange all of your music in its special folder according to song, artist, and type of music. Various flash games and retro games can also be played with minimal amount of work, just find the games on the Internet and have at it.
When accessing the Internet, there was a fairly fast connection rate for a cell phone. Sites loaded up in high quality and were easily navigable thanks to the larger QWERTY keyboard. The phone itself can connect to various objects with its variation of different connections such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, and infrared. What’s nice is that even if you’re at a baseball game, you can finish your work from your job and send files to your boss while someone hits a homerun, without the hassle of having a large laptop to carry around with you.
The E61i however will not be at the top of the cell phone list when it comes to its built in camera function. Pictures taken with it are what you would expect from a less expensive phone. The pixel count was quite low and every picture taken with it had a grayish tone that ruined it, but this is fine since the phone is built overall for business use.
The actual phone quality was quite nice and conversations can be heard loud and clear (and there is a built on wheel to turn up volume to a comfortable setting.) And if you’re a hands-free type person, the package comes with a headset for whenever you’re walking or on the road. There is enough memory built in to make opening files and running programs jiffy quick.
