Another great alternative to World of Warcraft or any other RPG would be a very high populated online RPG game called, Runescape. Runescape is a massive multiplayer online role playing game ran by Jagex and started in the year of 2001. Runescape currently has an extravagant amount of users/members that plays daily. Due to this, there’s a lot of communication between the players which can be a great thing when playing the game. Runescape has improved tremendously since they have started from the graphics, communication and by making the game more fun! If you haven’t played Runescape at all yet, then you have no idea to the fun you have been missing out in so far already.

Membership:
The best thing about Runescape is that it doesn’t cost a penny to join and also to play! You can get a lot of things out of it and access many things around the game without paying but you can even get more than that by paying some money for the monthly membership. You can become a member for as low as $5 per month and when you calculate it, it averages out to be about $0.17 per day which isn’t much. There are plenty of payment resources so there’s really no excuse to not being able to send the payment to them. Becoming a member adds a ton of new features to Runescape and makes it more fun to actually play. You will actually want to play because of how fun it is instead of playing every time you become bored.

Graphics:
The graphics on Runescape are not as good as it should be, but it is enough to get the purpose of the game out to their members and I give it an okay status. It’s not that great and I believe that the graphics can be better. I have to admit that when Runescape first started out, their graphics were horrible! As the years gone by, they did actually increase and did a great job in improving their graphics but I hope it gets even better as the years come along.

Worlds:
Runescape currently has 144 different worlds which can hold a capacity of 2,000 players in each world. Generally worlds one through fifteen are the most crowded worlds at all times. A few worlds are made specifically for a purpose and this type of worlds are usually also crowded but serve for one main reason. If you wanted to go to castle wars, then you would want to go to World 82 since most people there want to play Castle Wars as well. Here are a few of the activity worlds and their world numbers that are pretty popular.

World 1, 3, 4, 5 – Trade
World 2 – Trade (Members Only)
World 12, 129 – Duel Arena – Fun Duels
World 24, 82 – Castle Wars
World 83, 130 – Duel Arena – Staking

These are just a few worlds that are listed but there are a lot more. You pretty much have a world for each activity that you would like. I would highly suggest you to go to your selected world if you’re doing a specific activity because you may end up in completing it sooner or better by going to that world.

Runescape Quests:
How can a game be fun without any quests? It would really destroy the purpose of the actual game itself. Runescape has a total of 18 non-member quests and a heap of member quests. The quests tend to be fun and give you something extra to do while playing this game, Runescape. Upon completing each quest, you will receive one or more quest points and sometimes a special prize to go along with it. If you are a member, then you will also have to complete a quest in order to do something. You will even have to complete a quest to do another one. The levels of difficulty for the quests are in a range from novice to experience and ranges from very short to extremely long. You may need some assistance while doing a quest and you can always ask other players for help or even read a few guides all over the net that provides tips on how to complete each quest.

Skills:
The skills in Runescape is what makes up your character. This is what you will be constantly trying to bring up while playing Runescape. Most players aim at trying to have the highest rank in each of these skills. The max level you can go up in any skill is 99 but you can however increase your XP at no limit. Listed below is some brief information about each skill that a member and a non-member can complete.

Attack: The attack skill is one of the three skills that you must increase in order to increase your combat level. You can increase your level in this skill simply by fighting monsters.

Strength: Your strength measures how hard you can attack your opponent/monsters. The higher your strength, the more you can hit. This skill also is one of the three skills that helps make up your combat level.

Defence: The last skill which helps gain a higher combat level is the defence skill. Your defence helps you have a lower chance of getting hit hard. I highly suggest you even out your strength with your defence because a high strength or a high defence won’t help you in battle in way or another.

Range: The power of attacking people from long ranges would be to use the range skill. You have the ability to attack monsters/opponents using bows and arrows at a longer distance. This helps increase the chances of winning a battle.

Prayer: Bury bones and this skill will increase. Prayer helps you have an extra defence during battle.

Magic: Another alternative to ranging during combat would be magic. You use runes in order and staffs in order to use magic during combats. You can also use your magic to do special features.

Runecrafting: Instead of purchasing all your runes for magic, why not make them yourself? Buying runes can cost a bundle.

Hitpoints: The more hitpoints you have, the longer you can last in a battle. Your hitpoint level goes up without any effort. All you have to do is attack monsters and it will go up.

Crafting: Start making some very useful items on Runescape by working on your crafting skill.

Mining: Go around and mine rocks. This is a nice money maker.

Smithing: Make your own armour by working on your smithing skill. Simply take your ores that you mined and bring them to the furnace and make them into bars. Use the bars on an anvil and make your own armour!

Fishing: You can make a lot a lot of money by fishing and you can even use your fish to eat. At first when you start fishing it will take a long time but as soon as your level gets higher, then it becomes faster.

Cooking: In order to bring up your hitpoints real soon, you will definitely need to eat. The cooking skill is exactly what you will need to increase to save some money.

Firemaking: Bring up your firemaking skill to cook without going to a stove to cook your food.

Woodcutting: Use an axe and start cutting trees. Woodcutting helps you get logs and you can either bring up your firemaking and if you’re a member then you can make arrows with them.

While others many claim that World of Warcraft is a lot better than Runescape, Runescape is still a great alternative to it if you want to spend less on a game. Runescape seems to be improving on the game daily by updating quite often and adding new quests and features.
