Vector TD - Flash Tower Defense

Play Here: Vector TD
Candystand has just released the 3rd in a series of tower defense games by David Scott. Vector TD is my favorite so far. It has great gameplay, nice music, decent strategy and it does not lag!
I really like the multiple map feature. Each map even has its own leader board. As of now I am #2 all-time on the switchback map with a score of 515,300. My strategy needs a little work though. I’ll bet there will be legitimate 600-700k scores on the map within the week.
There is an Elemental-ish map if you are hooked on the original Elemental TD. I haven’t played it yet but it does appear to be slightly modified. There are also a few throwback WC3 maps which I’m sure will be quite popular.
Right now I am not ready to call Vector TD my favorite online tower defense. It has a lot going for it but the game itself is a bit on the easy side. I will have to rank it 3rd among online TDs. Desktop TD currently ranks #1 because of the pure strategy and difficulty involved. #2 goes to Onslaught Tower Defense because of the ingenious tower combination concept. (in spite of the spotty stability issue)

I would rank it #2, just after Desktop TD

I think I prefer Onslaught to DTD, but both are a lot of fun. Have you tried out Onslaught 2? It is not completed yet (I don’t think) but it is enough done that it is a lot of fun. It adds a new Taser Tower. The URL is http://onslaught.playr.co.uk/index.html

To tell you the truth, I actually don’t like this TD all that much. But, it that being said, it is not a bad Tower Defence, especially with the effect of being able to select the tower to attack the weakest, strongest or closest targets. (I beat it with one life lost my first time)

I love Vector TD.
The Hard maps are really a challenge now.
In Circle TD you had like gazillions of money due to interest after some time, which was bad. Only the limited building space was the challenge.
Tower Defense games like Desktop TP or XenoTactic are pretty poor cause you can juggle enemies around by blocking one exit.
Building a maze is fun but juggling destroys the game pretty much.

There are now 50 levels. This makes the scores much higher. I am currently 12th for switchback with a score over 6 million. I didn’t take any risks the last 10-12 levels so I think the 13 million 1st place is very legitimate. I wouldn’t be surprised to see something in the 15-20 million range.

a score of 15million is impossible unless mroe updates come… i was originaly ranked 1st on around the twist map with almsot 600k score…
even with the updates it is impossible for a 15mil score
a 13mil score makes me wonder if it is true… but my first try on switchback with new update i made a 5mil score… so i gusse it might be real

i checked vectortd website after i made the post the guy with 13mil score hacked it… he hacked everymap with illegal scores

Hack or no hack, I think a 15 million score could be possible. I’ve played it twice and I’ve nearly hit 7 million. If I could save more money in the first 10-15 rounds that would make a huge difference in the end.

Found a hacked version somewhere.

Why do people hack TDs to get unlimited resources? I don’t think I’ve ever played a game on any platform that has been enhanced by unlimited resources.

Flash games these days, reviews are more than welcome! The website has other reviews besides flash games (pc games, console games, handhelds, game development, ..) but the focus is on Flash. So let’s take a look at the various games that are reviewed.Vector TDis a typical tower defense game. You place various types of gun turrets along a path and then a group of enemies is sent through it. Depending on the type and placement of the turrets, you can eliminate them all or get pwned yourself. There are quite a

Sponsored Post I have to say this as honestly as I can.David Scott’s Vector TDIS A BLOODY ADDICTIVE GAME~! The concept is very simple but the gameplay is simply awesome. Essentially this is a mild strategy shoot em up. You are to place towers with specific abilities at various points on the map.
